Scientists test cannabis in lab to fight arthritis and lupus inflammation

NCT ID NCT06842316

Summary

This is a laboratory study to understand how different compounds from the cannabis plant affect immune cells. Researchers will take a small extra blood sample from 100 patients with chronic inflammatory diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, or Crohn's disease. In the lab, they will expose the patients' blood cells to various cannabis extracts to measure their effects on inflammation and cell behavior, aiming to guide future treatment research.
