Cancer's hidden toll: study tracks how diagnosis disrupts sleep

NCT ID NCT07280416

Summary

This study aims to understand how sleep problems, specifically insomnia, develop in the first year after someone is diagnosed with cancer. Researchers will follow 260 patients who had no sleep issues at diagnosis, checking in regularly to track their sleep quality, pain, mood, and overall well-being. The goal is to identify what factors—like treatments or emotional distress—contribute to sleep difficulties and whether patients get appropriate help for them.
