First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested a brief therapy called CBT-NC in 57 children aged 6-17 who have chronic nightmares. The goal was to see if the therapy could reduce nightmare distress and frequency, and improve overall mental health and suicidal thoughts. Children were randomly assigned to receive the therapy right away or after a waiting period, and researchers tracked changes using sleep journals and mental health questionnaires.
