California launches massive data drive to transform early psychosis treatment
NCT ID NCT04007510
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study aims to create a network of clinics across California that use a mobile app to collect data from people with early psychosis and their families. The data will help doctors track symptoms and make better treatment decisions. Researchers will also develop a tool to measure how long psychosis goes untreated, which may improve early intervention. Over 1,300 participants will be followed for up to two years.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- mHealth app and DUP assessment tool
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could create a model for using real-world data to improve treatment planning and outcomes for people with early psychosis.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational, data-gathering study, not a treatment trial. It may not directly improve symptoms, and the tools developed may not work well in all community clinics.
