First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looked at whether colchicine, a drug used for gout, can reduce inflammation in the arteries of people with diabetes or pre-diabetes who recently had a heart attack or stroke. Researchers used special PET scans to measure inflammation in the blood vessels. The goal was to see if colchicine could lower this inflammation and potentially prevent future heart problems.
