New study reveals hidden toll of Cancer-Related weight loss on families

NCT ID NCT04090619

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Aug 07, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at how often cancer patients experience cachexia (unintentional weight loss and appetite loss) and how this affects both patients and their primary caregivers emotionally. About 192 patients and their caregivers will fill out questionnaires during supportive care clinic visits. The goal is to better understand the frequency of cachexia and the psychological burden it creates, which could lead to improved support strategies.
