First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding magnesium to a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) improves pain control after total knee replacement. 94 adults having knee surgery received either the combination or bupivacaine alone in a nerve block. The goal was to see if the magnesium mix reduces pain scores and the need for extra painkillers.
