Who is studied
The study population consisted of adults evaluated at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Faculty of Dentistry, Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University. Eligible participants with suspected bruxism were assessed using self-reported bruxism behaviors and standardized clinical examination findings. Participants meeting the predefined criteria for bruxism constituted the bruxism group. Eligible participants without bruxism were selected as controls and matched to the bruxism group according to age and sex. Biochemical laboratory results available from the preceding 6 months were evaluated.

Inclusion Criteria: Age 18 years or older. American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) physical status I or II. Availability of biochemical laboratory results, including serum vitamin D, parathyroid hormone (PTH), calcium, and albumin, obtained within the previous 6 months. Agreement to participate in the study. Exclusion Criteria: Use of medications affecting vitamin D metabolism. Severe malocclusion. Complete or partial edentulism. Active dental or periodontal pain. History of jaw trauma. History of orthognathic surgery. History of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) surgery. Congenital craniofacial anomalies. Psychiatric disorders. Systemic diseases affecting bone metabolism.
