Summary
This study follows 1,850 people with bronchiectasis, a chronic lung condition, for three years. Researchers collect sputum samples monthly to analyze how bacteria in the lower airways evolve and adapt. The goal is to understand which bacterial changes lead to sudden worsening of symptoms and to find new ways to prevent attacks by adjusting the lung microbiome.
