New magnetic heart pump could be lifesaver for heart failure patients

Summary
This study tests a new heart pump called BrioVAD for people with severe heart failure that doesn't get better with standard treatments. The pump helps the heart pump blood and is designed to be safer and more effective than current options. About 780 adults will take part to see if the BrioVAD is as good as or better than an existing pump at helping patients survive, recover, or get a heart transplant without major complications like a disabling stroke.
