Balloon therapy may help children with tuberculosis clear lungs

NCT ID NCT07484490

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding balloon-blowing exercises to standard breathing techniques helps children with tuberculosis cough up mucus, feel less short of breath, and walk farther. About 34 kids aged 8 to 14 will be split into two groups: one doing breathing exercises alone, and the other doing breathing exercises plus balloon blowing. The goal is to see if the balloon activity makes a difference in clearing the lungs and improving daily function.
