NCT ID NCT07663006
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how common stigma is for breast and cervical cancer patients, caregivers, and community health workers in Rwanda. It also tests a program called RISE that includes resilience training, support groups, and videos of cancer survivors to see if it can reduce stigma. The goal is to find ways to make people feel more comfortable talking about cancer and seeking help.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
RISE Intervention (resilience training, support groups, survivor videos) and CHW Educational Intervention (survivor videos, educational materials)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a proven way to reduce cancer stigma in Rwanda, improving support for patients and encouraging earlier diagnosis.
What could go wrong
This is a pilot study, so the intervention may not reduce stigma as hoped. Results may also not apply to other regions or cultures.
