New combo attack: radiation & immune drug aim to prime Body's defenses before chemo in breast cancer

NCT ID NCT07188246

Summary

This study is testing a new treatment sequence for high-risk breast cancer. It aims to see if giving a short, targeted radiation treatment along with an immune-boosting drug directly into the tumor can better prepare the body's immune system before starting standard chemotherapy. The goal is to improve the chances of eliminating all detectable cancer cells by the time of surgery. The trial is recruiting 40 adults with stage 2B or 3 breast cancer who are planning to have chemotherapy before surgery.
