First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study tested a shorter course of radiation (hypofractionation) to the breast and nearby lymph nodes in 137 women with node-positive breast cancer. The goal was to see if this approach reduces long-term side effects like arm swelling (lymphedema) while still controlling cancer. Participants were grouped by their surgery type, and researchers tracked side effects and cancer recurrence for up to 5 years.
