New program aims to stop painful arm swelling after breast cancer treatment

Summary
This study is testing whether a comprehensive prevention program can help drain fluid from the arm and stop lymphedema (chronic arm swelling) from developing. It involves 285 women with breast cancer who are having surgery to remove lymph nodes under their arm. The main goal is to see if the program reduces the number of women who develop arm swelling by at least 10% in the year after surgery.
