Could a new scan reveal hidden clues in breast cancer?

NCT ID NCT02284919

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests a new type of PET/CT scan that uses a special tracer called [18F]ISO-1 to look at sigma-2 receptor activity in breast cancer tumors. About 30 adults with known or suspected breast cancer will receive the tracer and then have a PET/CT scan. The goal is to see if this imaging method can measure how fast cancer cells are growing, which might help doctors better understand the disease without needing a biopsy.
