New tool aims to help seniors avoid unnecessary breast cancer treatments

Summary
This study is testing a new decision-making tool for women aged 70 and older who have a common, low-risk type of early breast cancer. The goal is to see if giving patients a detailed guide and training their surgeons in shared decision-making leads to fewer aggressive treatments and better care. Researchers will compare outcomes for patients whose surgeons use the new tool versus those who receive usual care.
