Exercise plus brain games may fight 'Chemo Brain' in breast cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT06073717

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a 20-week program of exercise alone or exercise combined with cognitive training can improve thinking and memory in breast cancer survivors. 108 women who have finished primary treatment will be assigned to one of three groups: dual-task training, exercise only, or standard physical activity advice. Researchers will measure changes in executive function, physical fitness, and blood markers linked to muscle-brain communication.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
exercise program and dual motor-cognitive training
What this could lead to
If successful, this could point toward a non-drug way to ease 'chemo brain' and improve daily life for breast cancer survivors.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study (108 people) with no blinding, so results may not apply widely. The benefits may be modest or not last after the program ends.
