NCT ID NCT07680959
First seen Jul 02, 2026 · Last updated Jul 10, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This trial investigates whether combining two types of brain stimulation—intermittent theta burst stimulation (iTBS) and high-definition transcranial direct current stimulation (HD-tDCS)—can reduce negative symptoms of schizophrenia, such as lack of motivation, social withdrawal, and reduced emotional expression. The study enrolls 100 adults with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder who have stable but prominent negative symptoms. Participants receive active or sham stimulation over three weeks, and researchers track symptom changes using standard rating scales immediately after treatment and at one and three months later.
