Zapping the brain to fight memory loss

NCT ID NCT04294888

Summary

This study tested whether using magnetic pulses to stimulate specific brain areas could improve memory in older adults with very early signs of Alzheimer's disease. Researchers used brain scans to see how the stimulation changed brain network connections and gave memory tests to measure any improvements. The study was small and ended early, so it was mainly exploring how the brain responds to this type of stimulation rather than proving a treatment.
