Brain zap study aims to protect memory after radiation

NCT ID NCT06466720

First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether stereotactic radiosurgery (a precise type of radiation) for brain tumors causes thinking or memory problems. About 80 adults with brain metastases or benign meningiomas will take memory tests and quality-of-life surveys before and after treatment. Researchers will use brain scans and treatment plans to find which brain areas are linked to cognitive decline, so future patients can have lower radiation doses to those spots.
