Shoulder surgery study probes how nerve blocks affect brain oxygen
NCT ID NCT07398352
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at two different numbing methods for shoulder surgery to see how they affect oxygen levels in the brain and the size of a major neck artery. Researchers will compare using one nerve block alone versus combining it with another block. The goal is to understand which method keeps the brain better oxygenated during surgery. The study is currently recruiting 70 adults aged 18-65 who are in good health.
