5-Minute MRI scan could solve brain tumor vs. radiation scar mystery

NCT ID NCT06101069

First seen Feb 20, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests a faster, more detailed MRI technique called Magnetic Resonance Fingerprinting (MRF) to see if it can tell the difference between a brain tumor coming back and radiation-induced brain damage. About 60 adults who have had brain radiation, have new or untreated brain tumors, or are healthy will get one extra MRI scan. The goal is to improve diagnosis without extra tests or procedures.
