Brain wave watch: new monitor may cut ICU delirium and ventilator time
NCT ID NCT06019078
First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study looked at 150 ICU patients on breathing machines to see if adding a brain activity monitor (pEEG) to standard sedation checks could reduce confusion (delirium), time on the ventilator, and long-term problems after ICU. Researchers compared patients who got both the brain monitor and standard care to those who got standard care alone. The goal was to find a better way to manage sedation and improve recovery.
