New imaging agent may reveal hidden brain tumor cells after surgery

NCT ID NCT05554302

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a special PET scan using an investigational agent called 18F-Fluciclovine can find leftover tumor tissue after brain metastasis surgery better than standard MRI. About 20 adults who have had brain tumor surgery and are scheduled for radiation will get an optional PET scan. The goal is to see if this scan helps doctors plan more precise radiation and predict if the tumor might come back.
