Brain tumor radiation: could skipping the safety margin be just as good?

NCT ID NCT02747303

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study compares two ways of delivering precise radiation to brain tumors that have spread from other cancers. One group gets the standard extra 2-millimeter safety margin around the tumor, while the other group gets no extra margin. The goal is to see if skipping the margin leads to worse tumor control. About 166 adults with 1 to 5 small brain tumors will participate.
