New scan could reveal if brain tumor treatment is working

NCT ID NCT04689048

Summary

This study is testing whether a new type of imaging scan, called an 18F-fluciclovine PET/CT, can better show if radiation treatment is working for large brain tumors that have spread from cancer elsewhere in the body. Researchers will enroll 20 adults with these large brain metastases to see if this scan is more sensitive than standard MRI scans at detecting the tumors and tracking changes during treatment. The goal is to gather knowledge to potentially improve how doctors monitor treatment response in the future.
