Brain scans reveal secrets of bladder leaks in women over 60

NCT ID NCT04227184

First seen Nov 11, 2025 · Last updated May 26, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looked at how the brain works in women aged 60 and older who have sudden, strong urges to urinate (urgency incontinence). Researchers used brain MRI scans and a medication called trospium to see if changes in brain activity relate to fewer leaks. The goal was to learn more about the brain's role in bladder control, not to test a new treatment.
