First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 37 times

Summary

This study aims to understand how inflammation in the brain contributes to Parkinson's disease. Researchers will give a mild inflammatory substance (LPS) to 30 participants, including people with Parkinson's, those with REM sleep behavior disorder, and healthy volunteers. They will use special PET and MRI scans to measure brain inflammation before and after the LPS injection, along with blood tests. The goal is to learn more about the role of inflammation in Parkinson's, not to provide a treatment.
