First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 02, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study uses special PET scans to look for signs of inflammation in the brains of people with major depressive disorder (MDD) compared to healthy volunteers. Researchers will measure two enzymes, COX-1 and COX-2, which are linked to inflammation. The goal is to better understand the role of brain inflammation in depression, not to provide treatment. Up to 64 adults aged 18-70 with MDD or healthy will participate.
