Scientists scan brains to unlock the chemical secrets of depression
NCT ID NCT02727972
Summary
This study aimed to understand how brain chemistry differs in people with depression, PTSD, and bipolar disorder. Researchers used MRI and PET brain scans and cognitive tests on 180 participants, including healthy volunteers, to measure specific brain chemicals. The goal was to gather knowledge about the biology of these conditions, not to test a new treatment.
