First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looked at how cardiac arrest affects thinking, memory, emotions, and sleep in survivors. About 200 people who survived a cardiac arrest took memory and thinking tests 7 and 24 months later. Their results were compared to heart attack survivors who did not have a cardiac arrest. The goal was to understand long-term brain recovery and improve screening tools for doctors.
