Could a lighter brace help you recover faster from a broken ankle?
NCT ID NCT07163091
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a less restrictive ankle stirrup works as well as a standard walker boot for pain and daily function after an ankle fracture. About 1400 adults who had surgical or non-surgical treatment will be randomly assigned to one brace type. The goal is to see if the stirrup allows faster recovery and better social interaction without increasing complications.
