Botox injections could tame painful skin disease
NCT ID NCT05403710
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing whether Botox injections can reduce inflammation in people with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), a chronic skin condition that causes painful lumps. Researchers believe that blocking certain nerve signals may calm the immune response. The study will enroll 20 adults with HS and examine skin immune cells before and after treatment.

What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a new treatment option for hidradenitis suppurativa, a painful skin condition.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early-phase study with only 20 participants. It is testing a theory, not a proven treatment, and may not lead to a widely available therapy.
