Promising combo for tough prostate cancer falls short in early trial
NCT ID NCT00183937
First seen May 26, 2026 · Last updated May 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested a combination of two drugs, bortezomib and docetaxel, in 15 men with advanced prostate cancer that no longer responded to hormone therapy. The goal was to see if the combo could lower PSA levels and ease pain. The trial was stopped early, so results are limited, but researchers hoped to find a new option for this hard-to-treat stage of cancer.
