Radical transplant offers hope for a 'Factory Reset' of the immune system

NCT ID NCT03663933

Summary

This study is testing whether a bone marrow or blood stem cell transplant from a healthy donor can cure people with serious disorders where their own T-cells (a type of immune cell) are overactive or malfunctioning. These disorders can cause life-threatening infections, organ damage, and blood cancers. The goal is to replace the patient's faulty immune system with a healthy one from a donor.
