New bone graft could improve dental implant success after tooth extraction
NCT ID NCT06740110
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares a new bone graft material to standard care for preserving bone after tooth extraction. About 82 adults who need socket preservation will be randomly assigned to receive either the new material or the usual treatment. The main goal is to measure how much new bone forms using microscopic analysis, with safety also tracked.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
bone graft material (investigational medical device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a better option for preserving bone after tooth extraction, potentially improving outcomes for future dental implants.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study with only 82 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The new material may not perform better than standard care, and there are typical surgical risks like infection or poor healing.
