First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 19, 2026 · Updated 35 times
Summary
This study compares a new mixture of two bone grafting materials to a standard one for preserving the jawbone after a tooth is pulled. Thirty healthy adults who need a premolar or molar extracted and later a dental implant will receive the procedure. Researchers will measure changes in bone width and height over four months and check bone quality under a microscope.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
bone graft material (mix of demineralized freeze-dried bone allograft and deproteinized bovine bone mineral)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a better option for preserving jawbone shape and density after tooth extraction, improving future dental implant success.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-phase study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The new graft mix might not outperform the standard material.
As listed by the trial registrant
