New gel could boost bone healing for dental implants
NCT ID NCT07099846
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a gel made from hyaluronic acid and polynucleotides, mixed with a bone graft, helps preserve bone after a tooth extraction. 40 adults needing a single tooth pulled will either get the gel treatment or let the socket heal naturally. After 4 months, a dental implant is placed using a digital workflow, and bone changes are measured with 3D X-rays.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
bovine-derived bone graft mixed with hyaluronic acid and polynucleotide gel
What this could lead to
If it works, this could improve bone healing after tooth extraction and make dental implants more successful.
What could go wrong
This is a small early-stage trial with only 40 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The gel might not improve bone preservation compared to natural healing.
