Birth control Pills' hidden impact on bones revealed in new study

NCT ID NCT05303636

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether two hormonal contraceptives (LF111 and drospirenone chewable tablets) cause bone loss in women aged 14 to 45. Over 1,500 participants will have their bone density measured after 12 months and compared to women using non-hormonal birth control. The goal is to understand the safety of these contraceptives for bone health.
