Summary
This study tested whether lowering blood pressure more aggressively than standard care reduces the risk of rupture or growth of unruptured brain aneurysms. 577 Chinese adults with small, unruptured aneurysms and high blood pressure were randomly assigned to keep their blood pressure below 120 mmHg (enhanced) or below 140 mmHg (standard). The researchers tracked aneurysm instability, including rupture, growth, or related symptoms, over 24 months.
