Can a precision drug outsmart hard-to-treat colorectal cancer?
NCT ID NCT07730489
First seen Jul 28, 2026 · Last updated Jul 29, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase III trial is testing whether an experimental drug called BL-M07D1 can slow or stop the growth of advanced colorectal cancer in people whose tumors have high levels of the HER2 protein and who have already tried standard chemotherapy. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either BL-M07D1 or one of several standard treatments chosen by their doctor. The study aims to see if the new drug improves how long people live without their cancer worsening.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- an experimental antibody-drug conjugate called BL-M07D1
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a new targeted treatment option for people with HER2-positive advanced colorectal cancer who have run out of standard options.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-phase trial with a relatively small number of participants, and the experimental drug may not prove more effective or safer than existing therapies. Side effects from the drug are also possible.
