This study tested a 4-week program where young ethnic minority adults (ages 18-35) with a family history of heart disease learned paced breathing exercises using a heart rate sensor. The goal was to see if this biofeedback training could lower stress, anxiety, and improve the body's ability to handle pressure. Participants were randomly assigned to either the breathing group or a control group, and researchers measured changes in heart rate, skin response, blood pressure, and anxiety levels. The findings may offer a simple, drug-free way to help reduce heart disease risk in communities that face health disparities.
