First seen May 28, 2026 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding blood flow restriction (BFR) exercise to standard physical therapy helps people recover more quickly after total knee replacement. BFR uses a cuff to lightly restrict blood flow during low-weight exercises, aiming to build strength without heavy loads. The trial will include 48 adults aged 50-65 and measure pain, swelling, movement, and fear of moving over 6 weeks.
