New imaging catches cancers standard MRI misses in prostate patients
NCT ID NCT04461509
First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tested whether two advanced imaging techniques—high-resolution MRI and a special PET-MRI scan—can find prostate cancers that standard MRI might miss. 62 men who were considering focal HIFU therapy or prostate removal took part. The goal was to see if these newer scans could better map the cancer, helping doctors choose the right treatment.
