Could a single antibiotic beat a combo for serious strep infections?
NCT ID NCT07240077
First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study compares two treatments for streptococcal bloodstream infections: one antibiotic alone versus two antibiotics together. About 165 adults with a confirmed strep infection will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. The goal is to see if the single antibiotic works just as well, which could simplify treatment and reduce side effects.
