Heart attack survivors: shorter blood thinner course may be safer and effective

NCT ID NCT07507500

First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at different blood-thinning strategies for people who have had a heart attack and a stent placed. It compares taking two blood thinners for a shorter time (then one alone) versus the standard 12-month dual therapy. The goal is to find which approach best prevents another heart attack, stroke, or death while also reducing serious bleeding. About 8,100 adults who had a heart attack and successful stenting will take part.
