Heart attack survivors: shorter blood thinner course may be safer and effective

NCT ID NCT07507500

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study involves 8,100 adults who had a heart attack and received a stent. It compares different approved blood-thinning strategies to see which one best prevents another heart attack, stroke, or death while also reducing serious bleeding. Participants will either receive a shorter course of dual therapy followed by one drug, or the standard 12-month dual therapy. The goal is to improve long-term outcomes without increasing risks.
