Summary
This study looks at whether a protein called BDNF in the blood matches the degree of spinal disc wear seen on MRI and levels of an inflammation marker called IL-1β. Researchers will measure BDNF in blood samples from 59 people with low back or leg pain caused by disc degeneration or spinal stenosis. They want to see if BDNF could serve as a simple marker for disc damage and pain-related inflammation.
