Could a buddy system boost bariatric surgery success?
NCT ID NCT03642197
Summary
This study tested whether having a partner or support person attend medical appointments with patients preparing for weight loss surgery was helpful. Researchers wanted to see if this extra support led to better weight loss, healthier habits, and improved relationships after surgery. The study involved 63 adults and compared outcomes between those who had a support person attend visits and those who attended alone.
