DNA test could revolutionize prostate cancer screening

NCT ID NCT03158922

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple genetic test can identify men who are more likely to have prostate cancer, so screening can be focused on them. About 300 Caucasian men aged 55 to 69 will provide a DNA sample and, if their genetic risk score is high, they will be offered a prostate biopsy. The goal is to see if this approach catches more aggressive cancers early and reduces unnecessary testing in low-risk men.
